About Us

The Honesdale Dance Studio is located on 811 Main Street in Honesdale. The studio was founded in 2000 by owner, teacher, and Director Joann Florance.

Over the last 20 years we have grown not only in the number of students but also in classes we offer, and the quality of learning that we are able give to the students. We pride ourselves in staying up to date on the most recent styles and  techniques.

Our mission is to provide our students with an atmosphere that lends itself to learning in a safe, non-judgmental, and technically accurate way so as to foster the most growth of each dancer. Our vision is to ensure each dancer with confidence to perform and excel in dance. Whether it be for recreation or to pursue a professional career.

We offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Tap. For our younger dancers we offer combination ballet and tap classes so as to give them a basic knowledge of ballet, and experience the musicality and rhythm of tap. We focus on fostering personal as well as social growth and self-confidence. We believe every child has something wonderful to offer and express.
