DRESS CODE

We at the Honesdale Dance Studio believe that a dress code is imperative for safe learning.
We ask that all dancers follow it accordingly so as to ensure a safe learning environment.

 

  • Students are expected to arrive on time and ready for class in the proper attire.

  • Pre-Ballet & Tap 1/2- : Hair should be in a bun. Leotard of any color, pink or black tights, and chiffon skirts are permitted. No tutus. Pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. Black Tie-Up/ Velcro Tap shoes.

  • Ballet & Tap 1- Hair should be in a bun. Leotard of any color, pink or black tights, and chiffon skirts are permitted. No tutus. Pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. Black Slip on Tap shoes.

  • Ballet Class: Hair must be in a secure bun or french twist. Black or pink tights only. Any color leotard. Ballet skirts and leg warmers are permitted. For colder weather your dancer may wear a ballet sweater over their leotard or a long sleeve leotard. Absolutely no baggy clothing allowed. Pink canvas or leather ballet slippers

  • Tap and Jazz: Leotard and tights, or a fitted top and jazz pants/ capris, and black slip on tap and tan slip on jazz shoes. If you choose to wear shorts they must have at least a 3inch inseam.

  • Hip-Hop: Shirt and comfortable bottoms. Black dance sneakers for Hip Hop 1 & 2, black and white high top converse style sneakers for Hip Hop 3 & Hip Hop 4.

  • Lyrical: Leotard and tights, or fitted top and capris or leggings, bike shorts, dance shorts with a leotard or tights underneath. Tan slip on jazz shoes.

  • Not Permitted: No jeans, jeggings, skorts, baggy clothing, sports uniform attire, excessively short shorts, tutus, large skirts, sweat shirts, or dance costumes . Dancers must be ready for dance class.
